Team 25 has a trusty Volvo 760 GLE. A 2.8 V6 cruiser with rear wheel drive and leather all round. Purchased two years ago for £300, this 19 year old swedish estate has seen better days. Since buying it, the drivers side window has failed, the rear wiper died, it developed some worrying leaks, the headlining has dropped, the stereo packed up, the glove box started falling off, the sun roof opens, but then refuses to shut, it has something growing in the driver's footwell and it has been used as a mobile skip / lugger for DIY and tip runs since I took it on. It's safe to say that the Volvo is on it's last legs, but we are very confident that with a bit of love and good karma, we can get her across the Alpine passes into the Czech Republic.
The most important job was finished today. Replacing the stereo! We now have a very nice working Kenwood CD head unit courtesy oif the very very generous Nick Gascoigne from Avoncliff near Bath. The glove box hinge was glued back in place. And it will need a good wash tomorrow for photographs for the evening post.
We also have some very nice organic life growing in the drivers footwell. This will either need cleaning before it evolves enough to make off with the car, or we may train it as basic autopilot system.
